Author Biography
Gavin is the archivist for the Allard Owners Club and combines the club’s archive collection with his own vast collection. He is the elder grandson of Sydney Allard – founder of the Allard Motor Company.
A childhood interest in his family’s motoring history has blossomed with such enthusiasm to where he supported his father with his own publication and assisted numerous Allard owners with queries regarding their vehicles whilst building upon a collection based on material saved and donated by former Allard Motor Company employees and significant patrons over the last 30 years.
Gavin’s professional career is Architecture with a career starting with a decade in the UK’s Civil Service in the late 1980s, followed by 14 years with a large architectural practice and for the last 8 years with global engineering firm, Atkins.
A long-standing member of the Allard Owner’s Club committee he also has interests beyond motorsport in model boat yachting and road cycle sport. He lives with his wife, stepson and stepdaughter (who is at university) in Cwmbran, South Wales.
